Hoover S3765040 Canister Vacuum Review

January 26th, 2009

The Hoover S3765040 is the latest canister Vacuum and cleans with powerful WindTunnel technology. Dirt is ducted away from the agitators into in the bagless dirt cup. The reusable and cleanable HEPA filter traps tiny allergen particles.

The Dirt cup is a little small but is easy to remove and empty. I always take the canister out to my garage and put the dust directly into my garbage can. I want as little dust in my house as possible.

I am allergic to common house dust. When using a lot of vacuums I sneeze continually. That is not the case with this Vacuum. It keeps the dirt in the and does not just blow it right back out into the air.

Easy to maneuver because of the big soft wheels this vacuum follows you as you work.

Hoover S3765040 Canister Controls
All the Controls are on the handgrip. You can adjuzst the power of the suction, adjust the speed of the agitator and turn your vacuum on and off.

The Telescoping Wand is excellent. I am over 6′ tall and it is great not to have to bend over to use this super sucker. It adjusts to fit smaller people also.

The Hoover ZS3765040 Canister includes - 6 foot hose, telescopic chrome wands, crevice tool, dusting brush, furniture nozzle, powered hand tool, deluxe floor brush, and a filter cleaning brush. The Upholstery and drape cleaning tools are really handy.

Cleaning your Car
It is really handy having the upholstery tool and the great suction of this vacuum when cleaning your car. It makes cleaning the car almost fun—I did say almost. It is much easier than using the hose off an upright that usually has about half as much suction and will not be nearly as handy.

Hoover supplies a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

WindTunnel Technology uses air ducts to provide a powerful dual air stream to increase its dirt sucking abilities.

Dell Mini-9 Review

December 11th, 2008

This Dell Mini-9 Review is from a hands user.

I have not been a big fan of laptops because they are always so expensive and heavy.  I ride a bicycle a lot and the 6 to 8 pounds of most laptops is just more baggage than I want.  The under 4 pound laptops have always been expensive–over a thousand dollars. When I saw the Mini Nine Nettop at 2.2 pounds and under $500 I was really interested. I ordered one.

I went with the Bluetooth, 1 gig ram and the larger flash drive and the Timbuk2 bag. It came to a bit under $500. I would have ordered it with the camera but when I was ordering it that was not an option.

I don’t like the bag. It is too small to carry anything besides the computer and power supply. If that is what you want great. There isn’t room to carry my camera, a notebook or almost anything else.  I use my Bag to carry my laptop and also for other necessities of daily life.  Anyway the bag does fit the computer well just not my usage.

First off I like it.
I like it.  I have trouble with the built in mouse pad but that has been true of all the laptops I have played with.  I carry just a basic plug in mouse with me all the time.  I don’t do a wireless mouse because that is just something else to get broken.  I am right handed and I plug the mouse into one of the ports on the left side and wrap the cord around the computer.

Dell Mini Nine Nettop

I mainly use my computer to access the internet, write articles and fool around online.  I am not a heavy processor and I store very little on my computer.  I store everything online at websites I own or use.

Speed to turn on

Wow I don’t have to wait for three minutes for windows to load.  Why can’t they do this with my desktops?  I havent timed it but it takes less than a minute to turn it on.  I just shut the screen to turn it off.

How slow is it?
I am not a speed fanatic. My internet connection is just a basic DSL connection from Quest. For my desktop I am running a year old dual core with a couple of 20″ dell monitors.

The speed of the Mini9 is fine for me.
What do I use it for? I access the internet, write myself notes, watch some youtube,I use it for my home base.

Updating my Wordpress Blogs. The Wordpress interface is small and fits in the screen of the Mini 9 really well.

I keep all my passwords in it. It picks up wireless networks fine and while it isn’t blazing by any means it works well for my purposes.  The time it doesn’t take to get started may be lost back while doing some other work but it is fast enough not to be annoying at all.

Traveling with the Mini 9
While traveling with the Mini 9 I take a plug in Keyboard, an old USB Dell keyboard and a Mouse.  I can type on the mini keyboard but I prefer to use a regular keyboard.  I put the keyboard in my regular luggage while flying and only pack the Mini-nine, power supply and mouse in my bag.

The battery seems to last well.  I take the battery off when it is charged.  The battery slips off really easy and if I am using it plugged in I do not leave the battery on it.  Most of the time I use it plugged in.

Traveling with the Mini 9 is a real joy.  This is where the ultimate light weight laptop is excellent.  I write a lot of articles and to be able to pull it up and start writing is nice.  I haven’t forgotten why I opened it up by the time windows is loaded like with a regular computer.

Lightweight AC adapter
I really like the fact that the adapter is small an d lightweight.  One of the adapters on one of my old laptops weighed a couple of pounds all by itself.

Heat
I have not had a problem with my Mini 9 getting hot.  It gets a little warm but I haven’t yet had a problem at all with heat.

Toothless Grin
With the battery out of my Mini 9 it looks like a kid that just lost its two front teeth.

What I would like improved
The sound is not loud enough.  I like to play some music off youtube sometimes and I listen to articles sometimes.  I am going to call Dell right now.

Review of the new Tracfone Moto W370

December 2nd, 2008

This cell phone could pass for the newest brother to the highly popular Motorla Razr. The new Tracfone W370 is quite comfortable in your pocket or hand. While not quite as thin when it is folded as the best selling Razr, the Motorola W370 doesn’t have the width of the the Razr also.  The “Chin” assists in holding  the phone with one hand for text messaging.

W370 from Tracfone Texting

The Tracfone rate for text messaging with the W370 is .3 units each, both to receive and send. Tracfone charges different text message rates with different phones. Many cost .5 minutes per message text.

The Motorola W370

The Moto w370 will eventually be available in some stores but for now it is only available at the Tracfone website. You might have to check back at Tracfone.com website a couple of times to get it. I believe Tracfone has not been able to keep it in stock because it is selling so well.  Buy a W370 phone at TracFone.com and get double minutes free shipping!

Tracfone W370 Single Rate

The W370 is a singlerate phone meaning all calls will cost you one unit per minute used. The roaming rate for many older tracfones is 2 units per minute when out of your local area code. The single rate  international calls. You can call many parts of the world and just pay one unit per minute.

Double Minutes for Life (DMFL) included on all W370s

The W370 now comes with DMFL. All the Tracfone minute cards you add to your Moto W370 will get twice the face value of minutes. Sixty minute cards now give you One hundred twenty minutes, 120 now = 240 with DMFL.

Tracfone Motorola W370 Ports

There are headphone and a USB ports on the Moto W370. The headphone jack lets you to speak without your hands on your  Tracfone Moto W370 .  The Headphone wire when plugged in will also work asbe the antenna for the fm Radio.  The UsB port seems to be disabled by Tracfone.  You cannot access you phone from your computer with this mini USB port and it will not charge your phone while hooked up to a computer.

Tracfone W370 Minutes

This phone is also sold with either a One Year 400 (800 with DMFL) minute card or a 450/900 card.  The phone is free with either of these deals.   I recently used a bonus code with a One year card and ended up with 1100 minutes.

Do not add minutes to your Tracfone if it is not a DMFL Tracfone.  Buy a Motorola W370 phone at TracFone with a phone card and get double minutes and free shipping!
